Sometimes you need to explore the dark to find the light of truth. I recently took myself on a 24-hour journey of self-reflection and re-balancing, and it never fails to change me. Remind me. Inspire me. I listened, I created, I discovered. From this practice, three drawings with three revelations came forth from my heart. Taking time for youself is a powerful tool. I'm grateful that a dear friend reminded me of this practice. So. Much. Clarity. While I admit to not being a visial artist in any way, if someone else can find a connection in my self expression--pictures or words--then that's part of my purpose in life.
My Failures are Foundations
My failures are not proof of my unworthiness. They are not a source for self-inflicted tear-downs or confirmation that self-sabotage is all I know. On the contrary. Each is actually a brick that adds to a solid foundation that houses who I am becoming. Each a part of me; a strong part of me that’s important and relevant to the life I am building. The failures are sturdy in their teachings and truly blessings in disguise. Not a single one came without the character of silver lining lessons. Brick by brick, they made their impact on my soul. But they do not stand alone. My failures are foundations, but so are my wins. They are stacked alongside all the victories, teachings, and experiences that also contributed to my knowingness, all working together to cement the being that is Jenny Dee.
Healing is My Spotlight
Sun in the first house, I cannot help but to shine. I try to dim for those who are uncomfortable, but I refuse to accommodate any longer. I’m not asking for you to get sunglasses. Meet me here. Shine alongside me. Akashawa. The angelic symbol of healing is who I am and who I represent deep in my core. She is meant to be seen, to be felt, to heal the hearts of those she touches, to radiate and inspire love, hope, and sunshine. Not to forget reality or darkness—but for all to be a shining force in spite of it. Authenticity and audacity are the path to freedom of voice to give others permission to be heard. Stand up to heal the healers and bring light back to this dark world. Unapologetically.
My Kingdom is Freedom
I am not bound by chains of societal “should.” I surpass the boundaries of “you can’t do that.” I step outside of the world’s comfort zone to defy the human-imposed restrictions of how it must be. Step aside, doubters and traditionalists of every generation. I dare to allow the freedom of money, love, time, creativity, joy, and transformational experiences to flow through me. Unconventionally, yet with that oh so necessary hint of stability. I am a butterfly exploring this earth as it gives back to me in abundance of freedom. I count on only my own wings to get me there. No, that is not true. It is the power of invisibility that lies in the wind that lifts me there, and together, we are free to soar and say, “Yes, please.”
