I was on a morning mission with my walk to connect more with nature and relieve my stress. One gratitude-focused activity I have learned over the years is to take time to "talk" with a tree. Place your hand on it, feel its wisdom, and ask it questions. I didn't even have 3 seconds or a question before this poem came running through me. It made sense to my spirit, and so I share it now with you.
I saw this tree
And it spoke to me
Its branches burst out into many forks
But which path shall it be?
“You’re not seeing the big picture.
Take a closer look and see.
“Why are you always seeing it from the ground up?
Where you see divergence, I see unity.
You feel confusion, chaos, uncertainty
Instead of its graceful flow of possibility.
“The truth is if you look in reverse
All forks converge into one solid trunk
Showing how any path you choose
Is a blessing not a curse
So pick a branch and enjoy its fruits
For in the end, the earth welcomes all of your pursuits.
“But if you still insist of the view from ground up, I ask you to carefully consider this:
Is each path not from one unwavering source, all another chance for bliss?
And while some lay bare and some sprout green
Come spring, every single one of them has a chance to blossom into a dream.”
